Do you like to walk in your neighborhood?
We live in a subdivision next to a major highway, yet somehow the neighborhood is still secluded. When the leaves are on the trees, we can’t really hear the traffic from the highway. The neigborhood has wide streets and established landscaping. At the end of the main road, we have walking access to the river. We love our neighborhood and usually walk every day.
However, I don’t like to walk in cold weather, and this past winter, I didn’t walk enough. I gained a few pounds and have felt sluggish. So, with the weather warming up, I’ve been out on the road almost every day. Mart and our dog set the pace, so I have work to keep up, which is good for me.
The past six weeks, I’ve been amazed by the beauty of spring around the neighborhood, and I wanted to share some of the details I’ve noticed. Hope you enjoy.
A few blooms on a redbud tree leaning against another tree that, I think, is covered with lichen.
Vibrant red azaleas add curb appeal to this birdhouse.
Tiny pink pom poms celebrate spring.
A snowball tree, a favorite from Mart’s childhood.
And this, a striking contrast of textures and colors.
I hope this inspires you to get out and take a walk around your home. Along the way, take note of any beauty you see and send me a photo. One of my next posts will include reader photos, and I’d love for you to share the beauty in your world with me.
