It started a few weeks ago. On a hot, sunny morning, I was walking up to my grocery store when under the long, shaded porch, I saw two rows of gigantic yellow mums, still in the just-budding stage. Next to them were flats of cheerful coneflowers and pots of crotons with their orange, yellow, and green waxy leaves. And, even though it was 80 degrees, the flowers and colors reminded me of what was coming.
The anticipation of something new: cooler temperatures, colorful leaves, fireside chats, cozy sweaters, steaming bowls of soup, and pumpkin bread (with chocolate chips).
Fall.
The favorite season of pretty much everyone on social media, it seems, and most of my loved ones.
And, if you’ll indulge me, I can’t resist saying, “It’s fall, y’all!”
I also can’t resist mentioning—in case you don’t know—that there’s a Glimsen notecard in the Shop that celebrates fall. (There are some new cards, too!)
This card, like our other ones, allows you to send the beauty of the season to your friends and family.
The design includes traditional colors and shapes of the fall as well as some you may not see as often. The result is a beautiful card to send and to keep.
The inside is blank so you can write your own greeting and spread a bit of fall cheer into someone else’s life.
In a time when people with the loudest voices often wield words like swords, good words shared among family and friends can mean more than ever before. So, grab a set—or several—of Glimsen cards and brighten someone else’s day with your note of beauty.
You’ll find all the Glimsen cards in the shop on the website. Currently, one set of five cards and envelopes is $8, plus $2 shipping.
As you watch the season of fall unfold, enjoy the beauty around you. Take a walk, breathe deeply, notice the shortening hours of sunlight and the landscape’s preparations for cold weather.
And keep your eyes out for my upcoming blog posts where I’ll be sharing the beauty I find, too.
