Driving home from work a few falls ago, my uncle saw a tree with leaves a glorious, vibrant yellow. It was so stunning, he pulled over and took the photo above. This show-stopper brightened the end of a long work day for him.
Notice how the painted lines on the road echo and emphasize the color.
What I love is that my uncle not only told me about the beauty he had seen, he sent me the photo. And now I’m sharing it with you.
Long-time Glimsen reader and friend, Luc Albee, sent me this photo she took on her farm. The textures, colors, and curlicues of the fungi make a log lying in her pasture a host of natural beauty.
This breathtaking sunset is one of the prettiest Martha Lynch has ever seen, and I have to agree. Let your eyes rest on it and take it in. The colors in the sky spill into the water below. The cafe lights on the middle boathouse add a tiny detail of man-made light dwarfed by the sight above and below.
Finally, my funny friend, Cindy, texted me this photo of a praying mantis hanging upside down on her deck railing. She added this caption: “Praying for you.” It still makes me laugh.
If you have any photos of the beauty that you see around you and you would like to share with me, email them to glimsenblog at gmail dot com. I might be able to use them in a future post. If I do, I will give you credit for them.
