Opening my laptop early one Sunday morning, I hear the familiar ding telling me I have mail. Scrolling through the messages, I see a message from a dear friend, Luc (short for Lucille). I know she’s on vacation this week in Colorado, so I’m surprised that she has emailed me.
Ever since I started my blog five years ago, Luc sends messages like this:
“I always think of you when I read about beauty. You encourage us to see, feel, touch it 😊” and
“I saw beauty in shadows & in reflections this week😊like you, I love the unexpected beauty all around us”
Her emails always encourage me.
But this particular email has an attachment. When I open it, I see the stunning photo above: a gorgeous purple flower with water droplets clinging to it.
Wow!
Few things delight me more than for a reader or a friend to send me a picture of beauty they saw or experienced and then to say, “This made me think of you and Glimsen!”
My sister-in-law has sent me photos too. She captured this magnolia blossom while on an evening walk with her dog.
My friend Laurie sent me this photo of a curved, vintage wooden door, open and inviting us to step out and walk in the green trees beyond.
And early this spring, my daughter texted this shot when she was walking a friend’s dog in the park.
These are just a few of the “Glimsen-y” photos that readers and friends have emailed me or tagged me on on social media. I would love to see more and to hear how Glimsen has helped you become more aware of the beauty around you. So email me at glimsenblog at gmail dot com or tag me on Facebook or at #glimsen on Instagram.
And thank you again to the friends and family who sent these photos and allowed me to share them with you here.
